About Me

I am lucky enough to be following my passion. After many years applying my mind to financial rules and regulations, court procedure, revenue legislation, and banking policy, I’ve broken free of the corporate world and returned to studying modern history after 20+ years. The first question people ask me when they learn I’m back studying is “when will you finish?” – no-one seems to understand that I really don’t want to finish – researching, and writing and learning are what I love doing!

This blog is an evolving hobby for me. My aim is for the history I write to be accessible, not obscure. Constructive feedback is very welcome.

  1. Thanks for your kind words – now that semester is over I plan to do a lot more reading, thinking and writing, and working out how to improve the look and content of my blog. Yours looks inspiring, and yes, we do seem to have very similar goals!
